Motorola burst back into the flagship scene earlier this year with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865-powered, 5G-enabled Motorola Edge+. Alongside the Edge+, Motorola also unveiled the slightly cheaper Edge with the upper mid-range (but still 5G-enabled) Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G. Now, Motorola has announced an even more affordable 5G-enabled smartphone in the Moto G 5G Plus.
We first saw the Moto G 5G Plus in leaked renders, but we had already learned much about it under the name “Motorola Edge Lite.” That device is now official, and it brings 5G to Motorola’s popular Moto G series. It features a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and two hole-punch cutouts in the display.
The cameras in the dual hole-punches are 16MP and 8MP wide-angle. This is the first Motorola device with dual front cameras. On the back, the Moto G 5G Plus features four cameras: 48MP primary, 5MP macro camera, 8MP wide-angle, and 2MP depth sensor.
Powering the Moto G 5G Plus is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor with an integrated Snapdragon X52 5G modem. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 supports sub-6GHz 5G, but without mmWave antennas, the phone won’t be able to access mmWave networks. There are two RAM and storage options: 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. The battery is 5,000mAh in capacity and can be juiced up with 20W USB-C fast charging. The phone also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and supports NFC.

Pricing & Availability
The Moto G 5G Plus will go on sale in Europe on July 8th. The two variants start at €349 for the version with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage and €399 for the version with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage. The device will eventually reach KSA, UAE, and many other markets in the near future, but Motorola has not confirmed the phone will go on sale in the U.S. Instead, they’re promising “to launch a sub-$500 5G device in North America this fall.” We’ve seen evidence that Motorola is preparing a device code-named “Nairobi” for Verizon in the U.S., and we also know that “Nairobi” is in fact the new Moto G 5G Plus. Motorola may rebrand the phone for a U.S. launch later this year, but we’ll have to wait and see.
